OVERVIEW: The Procurement Specialists will be responsible for direct sourcing (production and non-production) and working closely with Quality, Engineering and Planning in line with the project strategy, while developing partnerships with suppliers and stakeholders. The following product lines are available: Body in White (BIW), Interior, Exterior, Electrics, Powertrain, Accessories, Manufacturing (Operational Buyer). RESPONSIBILITIES: * Developing and implementing an effective supplier base and partnerships to create a reliable and long-term source of supply. * Sourcing and forming strategic supply base management and handling activities such as financial management and issue resolution. * Analysing production and procurement lead times to ensure customer requirements can be met. * Responsible for ensuring prices negotiated with approved suppliers are consistent and are as competitive as previously supplied development and integration of supply agreements. * Continuously seeking measurable improvement opportunities which will contribute towards achieving high standards of operational excellence. * Effectively managing sub-contractors ensuring that supplies meet company output plan. * Maintaining records of supplier performance, communicating with each supplier to improve performance and or implementing corrective actions where necessary. * Analysing production and procurement lead times to ensure customer requirements can be met. Requirements DESIRED EXPERIENCE: * Ideally 5+ years experience gained at either a Tier 1/2 automotive supplier or automotive OEM. * Previous direct knowledge of automotive procurement from concept-through-industrialisation-to-operation. * Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivery. * Able to demonstrate experiences in building and maintaining senior supplier relationships. * Ability to prioritise tasks and have effective time management and analytical skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * There will be significant travel involved in the role. * Demonstrable strategic procurement experience and or NPI (New Product Introduction).
