Assistant Accountant - Permanent - based in Newport Pagnell Purpose of Role: This Assistant Accountant role requires an all round well exposed confident individual with strong systems skill, and strong inter-personal relationship skills. Supporting both the Financial and Commercial accounting functions with the main focus being the maintenance of mastadata within ERP, Ownership of P&L Recording, Balance sheet and control file recording. Key Responsibilities: * Creation of system records for new customers, suppliers and products; * Involvement in revision to master data creation and approval processes; * Interrogating and investigating any issues on daily and monthly data including integrity checks * Ensuring integrity of transactional data; ensuring data makes business sense; * Purchase ledger data management; * Management of manual credit note, and invoice transactions; * Maintaining chart of accounts and associated data attributes; * Customer Pricing maintenance including routine updates, making recommendations to commercial team, monitoring obsolete pricing based on sales volumes and make recommendations to cease pricing * Item Master Management including item master and plant pricing on a monthly basis; raw materials and finished goods and creation of new stock items * Ensuring Balance Sheet reconciliations are kept up to date and reviewed monthly * Assisting with the preparation of the monthly management and financial accounts: * Ensuring Balance Sheet reconciliations are kept up to date and reviewed monthly * Owning the successful submission of National Statistics returns Person Specification: This would be a fantastic opportunity for a Part-Qualified or AAT Qualified Accountant looking for a new challenge within a thriving business Desirable: Financial background with an appreciation of accounting principles (accruals & prepayments) Balance Sheet, System Accounting experience Essential Skills: * Strong IT skills to include Microsoft Excel Advanced * Experience of using and an understanding of an ERP system * ERP development experience * Creative approach to problem solving, and process improvement * Proactive in streamlining process and establishing new practices Hours of work: 9.00am - 5.00pm (Monday - Friday)
