" Telecoms Fibre Engineer, Slough (6 Month FTC) In these extraordinary times of the coronavirus outbreak telent is continuing to Recruit. We provide services to customers which are integral to providing mission critical systems and infrastructure across the UK and Ireland and we need to continue to deliver those services. To help limit the amount of face to face contact during the recruitment process, we will now do more online assessments and use Skype/Conf Calls for interviews wherever possible. We would love to hear from you if you have previous experience in a depot environment preferably on telecoms or utility work. You'll be working in a part of telent that is dedicated to transforming the way support is delivered nationwide to Openreach and other external networks, including Gigaclear. With us, you'll be valued and supported, involved and empowered from day one Role Profile: Reporting to the Delivery Manager you will be employed to install, connect and test optical fibre cable in the provision of PON (Passive Optical Networks) and spine routes on the Openreach external network. Typical Deliverables: \t * Complete intrusive surveys ('rodding and roping') on the underground and overhead network to locate blockages and establish clear cable routes. \t * Assess CBT (Connectorised Block Terminal) locations to minimise overhead road crossings. \t * Produce A55 (As Built) diagrams \t * Install sub-duct and blow fibre cable on spine routes. \t * Pull 6 core fibre cable on Passive Optical Network routes. \t * Introduce fibre to nodes and CBT's (Connectorised Block Terminals) \t * Build and create nodes (fibre cable joints). \t * Splice and test external fibre cable.
