Technical Manager. Gericke RotaVal – Rotary Valves & Diverters. Chippenham, Wiltshire. Competitive Salary. An excellent opportunity to lead in all Technical and Engineering areas for an established manufacturer of high quality components for the bulk materials handling equipment sector. Established in 1970 and part of the Gericke Group, RotaVal manufactures rotary valves, diverters and other ancillary components for equipment and system OEMs in bulk handling for a wide range of sectors (food, pharmaceuticals, aggregates, chemicals, etc). With a reputation for designing and manufacturing the best rotary valves in the world, the company operates from its specialist manufacturing facility in Chippenham, Wiltshire. Reporting to the General Manager, the role will include: Product design – design for manufacture, design for use, design for servicing, design for installation and design for test. Leading in future product innovation – exploring materials, manufacturing methodologies and global best practice. Technical support for manufacturing, including processes and documentation. Technical support for sales, including dealing directly with customers. Leading, managing and developing the small technical team. Key attributes and areas of experience are likely to include: Experience in the design and manufacture of high end industrial products. A good engineer with qualifications to back up experience. A wide understanding of materials. Competent in the methodologies of design for manufacture, design for servicing and testing – and proficient in the use of CAD. Curious and innovative – keen to explore new product design opportunities.
