Overview
Salary: Starting at £16,076 rising to £16,864 with experience in the role. Peterborough Regional College is a large, successful college of further and higher education. We currently have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a technician in the college’s Engineering Maintenance workshop. In this role you will be responsible for the material and equipment ordering, monitoring the students with their work as well as continuing the high standards of health and safety. In addition, the role would include liaising with suppliers, basic servicing of workshop machinery and help maintain general workshop and improve the workshop environment. Your area of responsibility will vary so flexibility and the ability to prioritise are essential along with attention to detail. The working hours will usually be 8.30 am to 5.00 pm from Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on Friday. However, the working hours will vary on occasions dependent on the needs of the College. The successful candidate will need good industry and practical experience in the Engineering Maintenance industry. You will be a motivated, self-starter with the highest level of commitment to constantly seeking to improve the engineering department. The successful candidate will need to have good organisational skills and communication skills both verbally and written. You will also need to work closely with teaching staff so team working skills are essential.
