Brickwork Lecturer & Assessor (NVQ/Dip) – Full time Job Reference: BLA/11.19 Salary: up to £32,797 per annum, dependent upon skills and experience plus a retention and performance bonus of up to £1,500. Working Hours: 37 hours per week / 52 weeks per year An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Brick Lecturer/Assessor to join our Construction department. The main responsibilities of the role are to teach and assess the Trowel Occupation qualifications at Levels 1, 2 and 3 on Full time and/or Apprentices together with assisting development of the Brickwork curriculum. The successful applicant must have: City and Guilds Advanced Craft or NVQ Level 3 in Brickwork City and Guilds 7404 Parts 1 and 2, PGCE or Cert Ed. PTLLS, DTLLS, or a willingness to acquire TDLB D32, 33, 34, or A1 and V1, or a willingness to acquire Previous teaching experience at an appropriate level and appropriate industrial experience Up to date knowledge of the Brickwork Curriculum Knowledge of assessment and tracking procedures The roles main duties include: Teach, assess and as appropriate, internally verify Trowel Occupation courses up to level 3, on site and off site to Apprentices. Support the development and expansion of the Brickwork Curriculum. Ensure that the Brickwork Curriculum is fully up to standard and to and assist with the further development of the Brickwork Centre. To assist in the marketing of the College provision through attendance at Careers Conventions, Open Days and other promotional events. Provide vocational support and guidance to learners. To track and target individual student progress. To carry out administrative duties associated with teaching, including maintenance of registers, schemes of work, assessments, reports, course records and course evaluations to a good standard and within established deadlines. To assist in the development of curriculum support materials. To be a Course Leader for one of the programmes. Provide such returns or reports as may from time to time be required by the Head of Curriculum or College. To assist in the recruitment of students, including interviewing and enrolments. To assist with programmes of work experience and/or industrial and commercial liaison, including the organisation and monitoring of work experience placements.
