Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen with a client of mine within their Alternative Markets division specialising specifically in Student Accommodation (one of the fastest growing investment sectors in the UK and Europe). Investment has comfortably risen into the billions in recent times and looks like it’ll only further grow. An opportunity has arisen for an AD or Director to support my client’s expansion of their valuation business in the UK and the emerging markets in Europe. This is a very wide ranging and proactive valuation role with lots of international exposure, ideal for someone who possesses leadership qualities who wants to progress their career working with the most prominent organisations in the sector. You will be taking a lead role with my client’s most important regular student fund clients, and also reporting on interesting one-off assignments for banks and other finance parties which are often in connection with high profile transactions. You will also receive support from my client’s dedicated analysts. Main Duties Client lead for regular fund valuations for specialist student sector funds and institutional clients Preparing valuations and reports for investors and banks (with assistance from more junior team members) Assignments could be anywhere in the UK or continental Europe, with particular focus on Ireland, Spain and the Netherlands, but with opportunities likely to arise all over Europe. Business development, which may be in the form of handling repeat business, attending networking events and giving client presentations. Your Experience Relevant sector knowledge, contacts within the sector and further business generation potential. You must be able to handle the responsibility of signing off larger valuations within a short time of joining us and have the leadership ability to supervise more junior team members up to Associate Director level. Experience of interfacing with clients appropriately. Must have a solid grasp of income driven investment valuations and development appraisals. Willingness to travel. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can lead on international mandates (as well as the UK) and forge collaborations with European colleagues. Ability to build working relationships across lots of teams within the wider business. Willingness to work in a slightly specialised niche sector is absolutely essential. Flexible and versatile approach to work. Strong analytical and research skills and the tenacity to ‘follow up’. Willingness to engage with assignments which may be out of the ordinary. Able to ‘tune in’ to a team project and work alongside others and also work autonomously. Able to troubleshoot problems effectively and efficiently.
