Overview

Our client, now requires an experienced Area Sales Manager who will have responsibility for the development of sales and the management of their designated accounts within the merchant, independent retailer and distribution channels. The Role: Reporting to the National Sales Manager, as the Area Sales Manager you will be responsible for, but not limited to: achieving, as a minimum, budgeted product revenue and margin achieving required product market share understanding market place issues in order to identify threats and opportunities benchmarking product and marketing plans against domestic and international competitors reviewing the product range and where necessary recommending then implementing product rationalisation programs in conjunction with internal stakeholders, establish business rules and pricing structures constantly reviewing channel performance preparing an annual business plan for your designated accounts and geographic territory preparing reports as required achieving annual KPIs as agreed in the budget The Candidate: Ideally of graduate standard, from within a business or commercial based discipline, candidates for the Area Sales Manager role will also be required to demonstrate that they have: a proven track record of driving forward sales growth and achieving/ exceeding set targets prior work experience within an area sales management role previous experience of working within a retail environment sound business acumen and be commercially aware strong organisational skills and a solid understanding of MS Office products excellent communication skills and the ability to be flexible and creative in a challenging environment the capability to be a hands-on type individual, who demonstrates initiative and has a positive, professional, "can-do" attitude the ability to be performance and results driven with a strong commitment to success and excellence the capacity to be a strong, capable leader, with the presence to communicate, motivate and influence at the highest level the ability to work as part of a team or under their own initiative to meet required targets and deadlines Candidates for the Area Sales Manager role should note that there will be frequent travel throughout the UK, as well as occasionally overseas, and therefore should hold a full current UK driving licence.
