Highly competitive base salary and benefits package Based North West Ref: L10940 This key role forms part of the senior leadership team of this £100m and growing, specialist, vertically integrated manufacturer of high value complex products. The client is a well-established market leader recognised for the quality of its products which comprise a broad range of materials and componentry and a build quality to world-class technical and engineering standards. Reporting to the Managing Director and forming part of a highly experienced senior leadership team, the focus of the role is to deliver the companies technical vision and lead all aspects of its design and new product development programmes. You will lead a multi-faceted, top flight engineering, design, testing and R&D team and be responsible for both the strategic and the operational design activities that are required to develop and deliver high quality products to ensure the client’s leading position is maintained and extended within their growing world-wide customer base. The company is investing significantly in growth and you will have at your disposal State-of-the-Art resources and manufacturing equipment in order to ensure success. You will oversee technical feasibility and project management and in leading the NPD process from concept to commercialisation you will interface significantly with senior colleagues in operations and marketing. A high calibre individual is required. Good quality engineering credentials to graduate level and a proven track record in the leadership of a sizable R&D/Design function are prerequisites. A bias towards mechanical is preferred as you will be leading a product design team who work with a broad mix of specialist components, hydraulics, extrusions, mouldings, castings, forgings and sheet metal fabrications. You will also need to have significant relevant early career experience in a world-class manufacturer.
