Pest control operative based in North London Your new company This North London based public sector organisation is currently looking to recruit an Environmental Health - Pest Control Operative to join their Environmental Health team. Your new role As a Pest Control Operative, your job will involve removing unwanted creatures such as rats, rodents, insects etc from an infested environment or building. Your responsibility will include, but won't be limited to: Inspect buildings and the surrounding environment for signs of pest infestation or pests Determine the type of treatment needed to eliminate the pests Take the required measurement of the area that needs treatment Estimate the cost of services rendered to clients or customers Use different pest control methods such as setting of traps or baits to remove or kill pests Apply pesticide safely in buildings or structures and the surrounding environment Design and carry out a pest management plan Drive trucks equipped with power spraying equipment Create barriers to prevent pests from entering a building and create effective pest control measures to prevent pest infestation. What you'll need to succeed To be the successful candidate you will have a degree in Environmental Health or a similar degree or something equivalent. You must be able to withstand harsh conditions as the nature of the job does require you to stand for a long period of time and working in an uncomfortable condition. You must also be detailed orientated and be able to follow detailed instructions in applying pesticide to avoid harm and finally you must be able to possess good customer service skills and be customer focused.
