Overview
Exciting Part-Time role, working for the leading Trade Association which represents the UK Marine sector , including the leisure, superyacht and small commercial marine industry. They are a membership organisation with around 1,600 members companies within the Marine sector. The role will be 9am to 5pm, 3 days per week (21 hours per week), working remotely. The purpose of the role is to process and administer the organisation's memberships and proactively recruit new member companies, as well as retain members. Responsibilities will be varied such as:- To assist at events and meetings. To understand all the organisation's benefits and services and to disseminate this to both members and non-members. To work with the team on the Membership Renewal project. Grow the number of members through proactive recruitment activities including (but not limited to) sales visits and lead generation. This includes business development activities such as calls, emails, meetings, presentations, closing sales, and all other activities required to confirm membership. Retain members through a programme of member activities including visits and calls. Support the delivery of the recruitment and retention plans. Ensure that all activity is effectively reported on. Proactively develop and maintain a list of prospects with current status, next steps etc. Help the company to continuously improve its offering to members by identifying relevant areas for improvement. Skills and experience required includes:- Good interpersonal skills; the ability to represent the organisation in a credible and professional manner. Good organisational skills. Team player with personal drive, initiative and discipline to work unsupervised. Excellent written and communication skills. An understanding of the requirements of the membership function within a Membership Association (Desirable) Sales and business development experience (essential) Account management experience (essential) Strong communication skills (essential) Computer literate with understanding of Microsoft packages. Experience of CRM systems desirable. To be flexible in working practices, including willingness to travel, attend meetings and events and maintain job requirements during challenging peak activity periods. Knowledge of the marine industry (desirable not essential) Full UK driving licence This is a Midlands based role, so travel across the region will be required for sales and retention activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-time, remote working role, and would be of particular interest to someone with experience, knowledge or passion for the Marine sector, though this is not essential.
