Overview
Based in Hertfordshire, our client is a specialist retailer positioned in a growing market that offers huge potential. To support business expansion, we are looking to appoint an Assistant Buyer to join the team. The position of Assistant Buyer for our client based in Hertfordshire is simply designed to support a designated Category Manager, who this role will report into. As Assistant Buyer, your main responsibilties will include: Support Category Manager in the delivery of their day to day tasks Represent the Category Manager at all times within category or business meetings Complete administration and the set-up of suppliers and products Complete sample collation, follow the critical path and ensure products move on time Complete Orders : all PO's to be managed in accordance with established processes Complete Order Placement : all NPD to be ordered on time, and as set out in Critical Path Complete the management of data and information in all internal databases and trackers Complete New Product content : ensure all content is delivered in full and on time Complete Critical Path management : track all PO's within structured CP Complete shipping paperwork - chase up suppliers for paperwork and ensure supplier payments are made on time About you: A minimum of 3 years retail buying experience either within GM or FMCG. Pet category experience will be looked upon favourably An energetic, tenacious and passionate personality, someone who operates with confidence and conviction Skilled negotiator, with the ability to adapt approach as and when required Excellent presentation skills A good understanding of the retail value sector A trader at heart In return, you will be offered a competitive salary and the opportunity to progress in a dynamic and forward thinking environment BBBH16628
