Overview

Vacancy Details To produce a daily and weekly sales forecast by article by shop for an agreed time horizon. Forecast will be used to drive shop inventory replenishment and support the business in understanding its short and long term sales expectations in line with the category activity plan. Provide data, analysis and direction on ranging decisions that can be implemented in collaboration with the Category teams. Responsible for creating an accurate shop forecast for individual products in a certain category of products. Launching new/rotational products into shops, providing DC shipment information where appropriate for supply chain planning. Ensure Retail forecasting system is maintained appropriately to consistently improve forecast accuracy and thus support a robust shop order. Communicate effectively with Category, Retail and Supply Chain teams to ensure that forecast processes are adhered to and understood. Provide data, analysis and direction on ranging decisions that can be implemented in collaboration with the Category teams. Salary Depending on experience Work Pattern Full time working mainly dayshift Monday to Friday but flexibility is required. Job Description Key responsibilities will include: Work closely with trading team on assortment/supply site decisions to effectively manage product set up, display and discontinuation plans. Creating daily/weekly forecasts to maximise availability and control waste. Ensure all new products are executed at shop level to maximise sales and availability whilst controlling stales and waste within budgets/stretch targets. Manage the forecast for any marketing events and promotions. Manage the products lifecycle according to category and retail expectations, minimising write off within the business. Implement weather policy across the forecast where appropriate, working closely with relevant teams to ensure a coordinated approach. Work with Retail replenishment planners to manage orders by controlling rounding profiles, service levels and minimum order quantities. Work with the forecast analysts to agree the final forecast during events such as school holidays, Easter and Xmas. Manage lost sales corrections where appropriate Forecast product supersession where appropriate. Skills Essential: Highly numerate with an ability to manage and analyse complex data to solve problems Fully conversant with all MS Office packages, especially Word and Excel An ability to diagnose and implement practical process/system improvements An effective communicator with an ability to work cross functionally A self-starter with a desire to get things done and to drive continuous improvement An ability to work at pace and manage multiple deadlines within challenging timescales Desirable: A good understanding of a commercial business environment, especially sales, marketing, finance, retail and operations Fresh food experience an advantage At least 2 years forecasting experience in FMCG environment F&R or Demand planning experience Graduate with business or maths related discipline Benefits Our Greggs Employee discount Scheme is very generous, offering you up to 50% off our food Your holiday entitlement starts with 26 days, in addition to Bank Holidays, which increases with service up to a maximum of 30 days after 25 years’ service (pro-rata for part time) After 6 months service you may be eligible for our profit share scheme You will be invited to participate in our Management Bonus Scheme which is worth up to 7.5% of your salary, subject to the Company meeting certain performance criteria.
