Overview

Teconnex LTD is a Global UK privately owned business who supply technical and innovative products to the automotive and other industrial markets. Our site based in Keighley now needs to recruit an accomplished Business Development Manager to join the growing team. This role will lead on 40% existing customers and 60% generating new business. This is an important role due to their continued growth and therefore requires a seasoned sales professional who can contribute with sales revenue but also be instrumental in driving own performance and strategy. The role: Business development manager UK You will be responsible for the initial call right the way through the sales cycle to the closing of the business, then the on-going development of the accounts. Throughout this process, the internal sales and engineering teams will be of support. Presenting technical concepts, products and solutions. Responsible for negotiation of pricing, payment terms, surcharge agreements, long term supply agreements and non-disclosure agreements. The role will be split 40% new business and 60% developing and account managing existing business The role will entail significant European and occasional global travel often at short notice. Maintaining and exceeding sales performance relative to sales targets. Identifying revenue/sales opportunities to maximise business growth. Lead on aspects of the sales process, pitching complex technical and commercial proposals to potential and existing customers. Working collaboratively with internal, sales, engineering and production teams. The Person You will have several years’ experience of selling components, systems, services or solutions in into a wide range of OEMs,1st and 2nd tier customers within the automotive, truck and off highway markets, in addition, experience of industrial markets will be an advantage. You will have an exceptional and clearly demonstrable record of finding, developing and closing new business opportunities within our market sector. You will have a technical background with strong technical sales experience and a sound understanding of engineering principals. A mechanical engineering qualification is an advantage but not essential. Although this role requires a technical background the majority of time will be focused on selling and commercial elements of a project. You will be commercially astute, entrepreneurial and numerate, with a proven and successful record of accomplishment in identifying, negotiating and closing new business. A solid background spent as a Business develepment manager. You will enjoy working in a demanding and often pressurised environment and able to think on your feet. Able to present to customers professionally within the UK and within Europe. An additional European language could be an advantage but not essential. Due to nature of the role it will entail significant foreign travel often at short notice However, we expect visibility in the office once or twice per week.
