Overview

I am currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Buyer to join the Buying team with my client in hitting key margin and stock targets through working closely with exciting brands and fast moving traders. We are seeking a candidate with previous experience working in a fast paced Head Office environment, preferably for an FMCG organisation. You should have excellent organisation and communication skills: written and verbal, and have excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines. This job would be ideal for a Merchandiser looking to move into Buying. REPORTING TO: Senior Buyer KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Review sales plans and provide buy plans for purchase decisions. Produce monthly forecasts by product line after understanding sell thru' and stock holding. Place purchases orders with suppliers and ensure all item are supplied, especially promotional items. Calculate margins per fragrance item and understand stock levels before seeking approval fo purchases. Work with brand owners to explore new opportunities and establish forecasts for delivery during peak period. Review all forecasts regularly (e.g. Bi-monthly) to ensure forecasts represent actual requirements. Regularly meet with individuals in sales team to ascertain their customer requirements. Work with Category Managers to review customer sales, stock, etc. through their "trackers" to ensure in stock level meets their KPI requirements. Regularly review retail prices in customer stores to monitor price differentiation amongst retailers and impacts on our purchase cost. Monitor stock levels and ensure sales team is focused on stock reduction. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 5 years' experience in a buying/merchandising related role. Good excel experience essential and proficient ability to calculate profitability and margins. Degree qualified is preferable Stock analysis and stock forecasting experience desirable, as well as good negotiation skills. Having a second language would be advantageous but not essential.
