Adecco Recruitment are currently recruiting for on behalf of our client, a Business Development Manager to work for a successful and growing business in the Preston area. J ob Summary: This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is tenacious, driven and confident in seeking new business to support the growth of the company. The role requires a strong focus on lead generation and relationship nurturing activities. The successful candidate will be supporting our Business Unit Leaders to facilitate the Portfolio's Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) efforts in the UK, Ireland and beyond. Upon gaining more experience, the right candidate will then have the opportunity to progress to a more senior M&A or business integration role. The position can be based at one of our client's UK or Ireland offices and periodic travel is required within both countries and possibly Europe. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and grow our client's current database of potential acquisition leads across multiple industry segments and geographies with the use of Sales Force Nurture leads within vertical market software business by initiating outbound prospecting calls, email and social media communication to qualify, connect and build high trust relationships with target companies Engage with owners and leaders of acquisition targets over the telephone, being tenacious and persuasive to get through to key contacts and quickly deliver an effective summary of our business model Source new target vertical market software solutions not currently identified in our Sales Force database Attend Trade shows from time to time to make contact with prospects directly Generate data and analyse performance monthly for senior management reporting Liaise with target companies to gather financial information necessary for valuation Upon Further Development: Analyse and present target company financial information and develop early-stage valuation models Assist in the continuous improvement of all M&A materials to drive a crisp, clear and compelling communication of our investment thesis Provide support on high-quality financial & market analysis and reporting on potential acquisition targets Supporting entire acquisition process through sourcing, nurturing, valuation, offer, diligence, contracting, and close. THE PERSON We are seeking someone who is a self-starter, results-oriented, with plenty of energy and willing to work variable hours. To succeed you will need excellent social skills, a professional demeanour, a warm phone manner and be enthusiastic and credible in speaking with business leaders. You are a collaborative individual and have the desire to seek professional growth and gain experience in M&A. Experience & Skills: 2 years of experience and success in Sales / Business Development (ideally in software) Prior experience in M&A is an advantage, but not a requirement Strong analytical skills and business acumen, allowing you to provide insights into the performance and potential of target businesses Must exhibit strong written & verbal communications skills Detail-oriented and strong organisational skills with the ability to follow-up in order to maintain our current pipeline Experience working in the software industry is strongly desired Fluency in a European, or any other language, is an advantage Bachelor's degree in a business related field such as Finance, Commerce, Economics, or Sales is an advantage Salary is £30-35K dependent on experience.
