Business Development Manager Your new company My client are a high profile, national logistics business with operations throughout the UK and an impressive portfolio of clients. They now have a requirement for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team, based out of the Crewe site. Your new role Working as part of the Commercial Team, this role will take responsibility for the sales growth of a selected group of Customers. Focused on sales growth and the winning of new business, you will be required to work collaboratively with teams from across the business to ensure targets for sales, profit and growth are met. Principally focused on UK Rail and London Underground sectors, the position will require travel, sometimes at short notice, as and when required. You will report to the Head of Business Development and be responsible for: Identifying new products and services my client could deliver to Customers in this market Maintaining and developing sales, profit and growth for particular Customers Understanding, articulating and selling their value propositions with customers. Leading all bids for customers and sectors by ensuring this is completed to a high standard and to customer deadlines/Identifying and converting Business Development opportunities across the sector. Responsible for Identifying, managing and reporting of sales forecasts for customers/sectors. Maximising customer interface time This role will be responsible for managing and developing relationships both internally and externally and will include: - Attendance at customer meetings at all levels within the organisation Managing and representing the business at conferences, fairs and networking events Working with the operations team to ensure all customer's requirements are met Working with the bid team to plan, prepare and deliver responses to tender Working collaboratively with all stakeholders across the division to deliver excellent customer service Working closely with the management teams across the division to identify opportunities for growth What you'll need to succeed The successful candidate will have previous experience in a sales role operating both internally and externally, and have the ability to to sell and negotiate with closing skills. Knowledge of the Rail Industry and International Sales would be an advantage. Candidates must be flexible in their approach in order to meet customer needs. Travel is required in the role so a full UK driving license is also essential, a company car will be provided. What you'll get in return The role attracts a salary of c£40,000-£45,000 plus company car, pension scheme and a generous holiday entitlement.
