Overview
We have a great opportunity for a self-motivated Engineering Manager to run and grow a department within a highly successful Engineering Business based in the West Midlands. The company manufacture and supply equipment and engineering solutions to the window & door sector and wish to bring in a Manager to run their service and spares division who will become a member of the senior management team. This is an exciting opportunity as you will be given the remit to grow the division working closely with the Directors of the business. The successful candidate will manage the day to day operations of the department, managing a team of four highly skilled and dedicated service technicians to ensure that all works are co-ordinated and planned efficiently and that stock levels are maintained at an effective level. In addition, the company buy and refurbish machinery for the second hand market and the successful person will be given the responsibility to grow and develop this in-demand part of the business that will include planning and organising logistics and being commercially responsible for the acquisition and selling of items. The role will be office based but may involve occasional visits to site. Applicants will need to have an understanding of machinery used in the extrusion and fabrication of windows and doors and will need to be a skilled manager with excellent communication and planning skills. A mechanical or electrical engineering qualification would be desirable although candidates with a strong fabrication or maintenance background will also be considered. Candidates will ideally be based within the West Midlands to make travel to work easier but those willing to re-locate would also be considered.
