The Project Buyer will therefore play a critical role in ensuring all purchasing activity for the projects are managed effectively. Main responsibility: To provide a dedicated and complete procurement and purchasing service to Dematic in respect of: Key contact and support for Projects Coordination of purchase-related initiatives within projects Cost management in compliance with project targets/milestones within purchasing processes and guidelines as applicable Collaborates with internal stakeholders on a local level (e.g. project manager, material planner and demand owner) Create and approve Purchase Orders based on authorisation matrix Coordination of small orders for Mechanical and Electrical components for projects Coordination of the raising of Service Support Contract orders Implementing and Improving procurement process in line with business strategy Lead/Mentor/Support project buyers where appropriate Lead Negotiations from tender/bid Stage to achieve best price and delivery Benchmarking and Cost downs on long term suppliers Implementing Long term agreements with key suppliers Managing vendors locally-regionally and internationally Coordination of process within procurement in compliance with procurement guidelines Support of projects from the acquisition phase to final project delivery in all purchasing related issues for projects Management of procurement initiatives Target cost management Support of project calculation Order and delivery-time tracking Ensures materials control incl. transport Support the project team in the preparation of Customer presentations and events Places intercompany Purchase Orders Executes the following: Invoice verification and 1st level claim management Operational purchasing activities for non-project specific and non-coordinated product groups (e.g. Service) incl. Negotiation Contract management Managing Quotations from Design Phase to Implementation Raising orders for Mechanical and Electrical components for projects and service team Develop and implement appropriate sourcing strategies This is a hugely influencial and businessd critical role delivering the commercial value add that procurement bring to Dematic. To be successful in it you will be: Extensive Procurement experience Experience in a procurement or logistics function preferably within an engineering delivery / project related industry Excellent negotiation skills Ability to work under own initiative and to work well under pressure, particularly to customer's service level requirements Sound personal skills, e.g. confidence, coupled with an ability to persuade customers and suppliers alike, often under cost or time critical conditions Effective written and spoken communication Ability to deal with external and internal clients at all levels Ability to drive forward company policies and procedures Proven track record in delivering projects and cost savings Requisition ID: 2020-11022 Job Time: Full-Time Experience Level: Mid Level Shift Schedule Display: Standard External Company URL: Street: Banbury Business Park
