About You You are a Senior Software Engineer that will support us in developing our product. You care about the impact your work has to customers and believe that successful software comes from close collaboration; with customers and the people you work with. You are an adept communicator and empathise with others. You use your experiences in engineering (good and bad) to help guide, grow and enhance those around you. You flourish in an Agile, autonomous culture, centred around systems thinking and DevOps principles. Our Tech and Principles * Linux, Docker, Shell Script, Python, TypeScript, Node.js, Vue.js * Data stores such as Mongo, Postgres (RDS) and ElasticSearch * CI and CI/CD via CircleCI and Kubernetes * AWS (EB, EC2, S3, Lambda) and Kubernetes (Kops, ELK stack, Grafana+Prometheus, Istio, Argo) * A mixture of Lean/DevOps and Agile principles * Collaborative, test-first, automated, fast-feedback, craftsmanship software principles * Our engineering values are Confidence, Creativity, Collaboration and Excellence Requirements Your Responsibilities * Were scaling our platform and we want you to help us. As we grow and scale-up our tech stack needs to do so too. You will be involved in contributing to our existing systems and tech stack, experimenting with new tech, and engineering our new systems. * Collaborate and communicate complicated technical concepts clearly with the product team and wider teams in the business to assist them in delivering the company strategy * Lead and encourage the DevOps culture in the team and take shared ownership of our data platform and infrastructure. * Lead in test-driving and automating our AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes cluster and data platform. * Understand, import and connect many different and difficult datasets... automated repeatedly. * Build systems for storing and accessing our data, moving it to where it needs to be easily. * Contribute to building CI/CD pipelines and tooling to enable teams to move faster. * Support, mentor and pair with other engineers to learn from your direction and experiences. * Collaborate and contribute to wider technical decisions and help reach consensus when faced with disagreement.
