We are looking for a Senior Architect to join our team here at LandTech! About Us Were LandTech. About The Role Your role as Lead Architect is to envision, model and design the system at a high, abstracted level that allows us to respond quickly to new opportunities. To learn and prototype new technology. To communicate the design across the business and differing audiences. To shorten learning time and achieve alignment/joint ownership. To support engineers in understanding and executing the design. Responsibilities Given our size, it would be a mixture of different forms of architect (typically software/systems/solutions). * Designing the entire LandTech system in collaboration with engineers * Responsible for the technologies for the implementation of each component and connections between the parts. * Alignment with all stakeholders and documentation of LandTech architecture for the next 12 months and plan for progression to that architecture * Working closely with the Engineering team to understand current development pain points and factor that into designs and tooling needs * Hands-on help to progress to new architecture, tooling, new processes. * Responsible for communicating the architecture to all audiences. To ensure understanding of the architecture, alignment and buy-in / joint ownership (effective execution of the design comes from understanding and feeling part of it) * Must form a high level of trust and respect between the engineers and be a point of excellence for technology in general. * Contributing towards development standards in the company. * Learning new technologies. Applying them in prototypes to prove out new possibilities Our Tech and Principles * Node.js (Vue.js & React), Python, Shell Scripts * Data stores such as Mongo, Postgres and ElasticSearch * CI and some CD via CircleCI * AWS (EB, ECS, Beanstalk, S3) and Kubernetes Cluster (ELK stack, Grafana+Prometheus, Istio) * A mixture of Lean, DevOps and Agile principles * Collaborative, test-first, fast-feedback software principles * A focus on *nix tooling and open source software Requirements * Must have experience with AWS cloud services/infrastructure, scaling technology and several different technology stacks * Has been in an architectural role for at least 2 years * Has a background in Software Engineering, coming from a background with JavaScript and Node would be an extra plus! * Proven experience of designing a system and delivering with a team Benefits Company Culture Our company was built on three core values: open, empower and home.
