GMIN Ventures Guyana Inc. is seeking a skilled Field Architect to join our team for the Oko West gold mine project in Guyana. This role will involve a combination of detailed architectural design and on-site project supervision for the construction of industrial and administrative buildings. The ideal candidate will begin by developing detailed architectural plans, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and will later transition to on-site supervision to ensure alignment between design and construction.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field.

5+ years of experience in architectural design and construction, preferably for industrial or large-scale projects.

Strong understanding of architectural principles, with a focus on industrial buildings and infrastructure.

Experience in both architectural design and field supervision.

Proficiency in architectural design software (Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, etc.).Ability to work in a remote, site-based environment under challenging conditions.

Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Willingness to relocate to the Oko West mine site for extended periods during the construction phase.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with mining, industrial, or heavy construction projects is an asset.

Familiarity with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements in Guyana or similar regions.

Previous experience working in remote or challenging locations.


Additional Information:

2-year contract for the engineering and construction period, with the possibility of a permanent position once the mine is in operation.
Fly-in/Fly-out position once construction starts

Key Responsibilities:


Architectural Design and Planning:

Develop and prepare detailed architectural designs for industrial and administrative buildings, such as offices, warehouses, process plants, and worker accommodations.

Ensure that architectural designs are functional, safe, and in line with the overall project goals and client needs.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, structural, electrical) to integrate architectural designs into overall project plans.

Incorporate environmental and sustainability considerations into the architectural plans.

Ensure compliance with safety standards, local building codes, and regulatory requirements in Guyana.


Pre-Construction Coordination:

Work closely with project management and construction teams to ensure that architectural designs are practical and can be executed effectively on-site.

Provide input on construction schedules, resource allocation, and the availability of materials related to architectural components.

Participate in the review and approval of technical documents such as material specifications, construction methodologies, and quality assurance plans.


Site-Based Construction Supervision:

Transition to on-site work at the Oko West mine site to oversee architectural construction activities.

Ensure that construction aligns with architectural designs, specifications, and safety standards.

Coordinate with site teams, contractors, and subcontractors to manage day-to-day architectural construction tasks, including quality control, material inspections, and problem resolution.

Monitor progress, resolve design or construction issues, and implement changes as necessary based on site conditions.

Conduct field inspections to ensure the aesthetic and functional integrity of structures.


Reporting & Documentation:

Prepare detailed reports on architectural progress, technical issues, and resolutions.

Maintain accurate records of design changes, field modifications, and construction updates.

Provide regular updates to project management on the architectural aspects of the engineering and construction activities.


Health & Safety:

Adhere to and enforce G Mining’s safety standards, promoting a strong safety culture on-site.

Ensure all architectural construction activities comply with local and international safety regulations.
