New Guyana School is looking for Security Officers:


The Security Officer at New Guyana School will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. This includes patrolling school premises, monitoring security systems, responding to emergencies, and enforcing school policies. Additionally, the Security Officer will function as a traffic warden during peak traffic hours to enforce traffic regulations and ensure the safety of students and staff during arrivals and departures.


Requirements

· Sound primary education.

· Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field.

· Strong observational and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary clearances.

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

· Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

· Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.



Responsibilities

· Security Duties: Patrol school premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.

· Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems. Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances.

· Provide assistance and protection to students, staff, and visitors as needed.

· Conduct regular inspections of school facilities to identify and address security risks.

· Maintain detailed records of activities, incidents, and observations.

· Direct traffic during peak hours to ensure the safe and orderly arrival and departure of students and staff.

· Enforce traffic regulations and school policies related to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

· Assist in the management of parking areas to prevent congestion and ensure safety.

· Provide guidance and support to parents and students regarding drop-off and pick-up procedures.

· Act as a first responder to incidents and emergencies, providing appropriate support and coordinating with emergency services.

· Participate in emergency drills and preparedness activities.

· Work closely with school administration, faculty, and staff to address security concerns and improve safety protocols.

· Communicate effectively with students, parents, and visitors, providing a positive and professional presence.
