The Financial Crime Trainer is responsible for e2e training lifecycle of Financial Crime Operations.

The role will be responsible for design, creation & delivery of the Induction and ongoing knowledge

upkeep of all Financial Crime disciplines. This is a new role within the Financial Crime Operations

team and the role holder will support in creation of the teams Training Framework, be responsible for

designing financial crime training content, organising, and delivering training sessions in line with the

Training Plan, undertaking coaching activities and maintaining clear and accurate training records.

The role holder will work closely with our Compliance team, MLRO, Product and Data teams to

ensure a uniform & coordinated approach to training by creating a safe and seamless compliance

operating framework that can sustainably scale with Altery’s rapid growth.

Responsibilities:

● Design the Financial Crime training programmes based on the needs of the organisation,

regulatory requirements and known threats and trends

● Developing and delivering effective Financial Crime induction programmes for new staff,

apprentices and graduate trainees

● Produce training materials for in-house Financial Crime courses or briefings

● Creating and/or delivering a range of training using classroom, online and blended learning

● Keeping up-to-date with developments in training by reading relevant journals, going to

meetings and attending relevant courses

● Contributing to team communication meetings and whilst representing the Financial Crime

team, communicating effectively with other business areas within the Group and at external

meetings

● Identifying all Financial Crime training needs within FC and across the Group and deliver

appropriate training to minimise the financial crime risk

● Remaining abreast of legislation, regulation, trends and media information in relation to

Financial Crime for dissemination to the Financial Crime Operations function

Experience & Knowledge

● 2+ Fraud /Financial Crime training experience

● Ideally, you will have a financial crime qualification (ICA or ACAMS)

● Previous experience working within the banking, payments, or other high-volume transaction

industry.


● Experience of creating and delivering against training frameworks in a Financial Crime

setting.

Skill & Competencies


● A positive “can do” attitude with exceptional interpersonal, organisational and

communication skills.

● Strong financial crime expertise and experience in a financial crime function, preferably in a

banking setting.

● Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate to a diverse audience

● Ability to perform coaching for team members to upskill financial crime knowledge

● Great organizational skills

● Strong attention to detail and the ability to present clear and concise information to Managers

and Senior Managers

● Able to thrive in a fast-paced customer first environment with the ability to deliver against

multiple priorities and workstreams.
