We are looking for an Operational Resilience SME who will lead the delivery, implementation,

Project Management and evolution of the Operational Resilience framework for Altery. It is a highly

collaborative role that includes working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to

identify essential business-critical services and align with the business strategy and core processes.

You will be highly experienced in risk identification & assessment, risk mitigation (including the

implementation of controls) and ongoing monitoring work in relation to Operational Resilience

Responsibilities and Duties

● Have excellent working knowledge of the Bank of England and FCA directives on

Operational Resilience

● Be a subject matter expert on Operational Resilience and the impact on regulated firms

● Lead the business and key stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of Operational

Resilience requirements.

● Identify and document the people, processes, technology, facilities and information necessary

to deliver each of its important Business Services and complete the mapping of the

dependencies of each.

● Review current strategies, policies, procedures, processes and systems to ensure Altery complies

with the regulations. Identify any gaps in the above and make recommendations for any

improvements.

● You will create and own the reporting process, including Develop MI, KPIs and other

reporting mechanisms) for the key stakeholders and committee as applicable, i.e., Board,

ExCo, OpCo etc.

● Coordinate developments in the risk landscape and assist in developing mitigation strategies.

● Be responsible as the Technical Author of all Policies, Procedures and operational manuals in

relation to the Operational Resilience Plan, coordinate and lead the scenario testing exercise

across the business, capture scenario testing output, generate management reports and obtain

approvals through governance.

● Develop the comprehensive self-assessment that documents Altery’s methodology and approach

of its compliance with the requirements of operational resilience and procedures to be

maintained.

● Ensure the proper approvals on all decisions, processes and documents recorded and approved

via Altery’s governance channels, i.e., ExCo, Board.

● Project Manage the implementation of Operational Resilience in the firm using the firms’

Project Management methodology framework (based on Waterfall Projects)

Your experience

● 5+ years of experience in projects and programmes relating to operational resilience/risk

management and working in a Regulated Environment, preferably financial services.


● Experience in managing stakeholders, including C-Level.

● Experience producing relevant and concise critical metrics and management reporting

Skills requirements

● We expect you to have proficient knowledge of the FCA’s Operational Resilience Policy

Statement (Building operational resilience: Feedback to CP19/32 and final rules - Policy

Statement CP) and associated frameworks, e.g., DORA.

● Familiar with relevant laws and regulations and industry best practices.

● Able to handle sensitive directives and work with team members and all partners.

● Knowledgeable of the critical regulatory standards related to Operational Resilience.

● High-level understanding of digital technologies (e.g. infrastructure, applications, mobile

apps, mass notification etc.)

● Ability to visualise and explain issues to broader audiences at all levels
