QA Team Lead, Novation Location: High Wycombe, UK (with some work from Tileyard, London, and Remote) Term: Permanent, Full Time Salary: Dependent on experience Are you passionate and knowledgeable about electronic music making? Do you have a professional background in Test or QA, with experience of hardware, firmware, and software testing? Do you have a flair for leadership, and a desire to help others realise their potential? If youve answered yes to all the above, wed love to hear from you! Were looking for the right person to join our Novation QA Team in a brand-new leadership role. The role will involve some line management responsibility, either from day one, or later as part of ongoing development. It would therefore suit either an established leader and manager, or someone looking to develop their career in that direction. What youll be doing Reporting to the QA Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of all QA activities required to support the Novation Product Roadmap. Youll be working closely with a team of QA Engineers with varying levels of experience, providing both technical guidance, and day-to-day coaching and mentoring. You will also be engaging with other key stakeholders; Product and Project Managers, Hardware, Software and Firmware Developers, and the wider Engineering Leadership Team. Key activities include: * Coaching and mentoring the Novation QA Team * Providing technical guidance to the team, and review/approval of test approaches * Undertaking your own Project QA activities, and modelling best practice * Together with the QA Manager, agreeing project staffing and budgeting, including long-range planning and hiring * Encouraging ongoing process improvement across the team An ideal candidate is likely to be * From a testing or quality assurance background, with 3+ years of professional experience working with hardware, software, and embedded firmware * A clear communicator, able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills, with a history of coaching and mentoring others (either formally or informally) * Qualified to degree level in a relevant discipline * ISTQB certified (Foundation Level or higher) * Used to working in both Waterfall and Agile development environments * Self-motivated, with a track record of improving test processes and coverage * Comfortable with using automated testing to improve efficiency * Flexible, and able to effectively prioritise and schedule across multiple projects * Methodical and rigorous, with a logical approach to problem solving * Passionate and knowledgeable about electronic music making, MIDI, and synthesis I dont have all the experience youve asked for, should I still apply?
