Summary: The Customer Support Engineering team supports the operation and maintenance of OEM and Non OEM Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Generators, Control Systems, and Auxiliary Systems. The team is dedicated for engineering support during scheduled/forced outages, GT combustion tuning, GT/ST commissioning and balancing after the outages, engineering support during engines commercial operation, as well as for new business development or existing business expansion while working closely with Programme management, Field Service, Commercial and Tendering teams. The team is also engaged with customers to ensure reliability, availability and safety of the operating assets. The position will be responsible for assisting engineering manager and engineering team for various customer support engineering activities. The prospective person would be hired to the ST team so that the majority, though not entirety, of his/ her focus would be on steam turbine support. Job Description: * The Steam Turbine Customer Support Engineer is responsible for resolution of problems on steam turbines, generators and related auxiliary systems. * Being a multi-disciplinary engineering team, it is expected that any candidate will have the flexibility to learn gas turbine, steam turbine, and generator operational aspects in addition to his/her primary job responsibilities. * The engineer is also responsible for assisting the Engineering Manager and engineering team for various customer support engineering activities. * Support the Operation and Maintenance of MHPS Steam Turbines, Generators, controls systems and auxiliary systems. * To prepare and write Steam Turbine technical reports, technical procedures, etc. following the instruction of the Engineering Manager or Engineering Director * To support in the creation of RFQs (requests for quotation) and POs (purchase orders) etc. following the instruction of the Engineering Manager or Engineering Director. * Respond to internal and external customer requests for technical issue resolution, making use of technical product knowledge and analytical skills while adhering to sound engineering principles, standards, practices and procedures. * Escalate issues as required acting as the liaison between the field and design departments to drive specific technical resolution and to help engineering identify and drive corrective actions. * Establish and maintain relationships with customers so that the customer's technical issues and requirements are understood and addressed in an effective and timely manner. * Lead and manage root cause analysis for technical issues. Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting MHPS projects. * Analyze technical data and document findings in a clear and concise manner consistent with engineering policies and procedures. * Prepare technical presentations for Customers ensuring the timely communication of significant issues or developments. * Travel to customer locations to support customer technical review meetings. * To support planned or unplanned outages, sometimes on short notice. * Provide commercial teams with technical support for sales proposal activities. * Act as interface between commercial, service and repairs teams. * Development of departmental working procedures for future work efficiency. * To participate in the identification and resolution of Technical No Conformities and Request for Actions from project management team. * Responsible as Engineer of MPSE at the Planned Inspections of Steam/Gas Turbine when required. * Responsible to solve Customers problems ("end" Customer and "internal" Customer) when it is assigned by Engineering Manager. * To write and or revise Quality Management procedures as and when required. * Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals in tandem with regular troubleshooting work. * Customer-focused mind-set with proven ability to understand and effectively respond quickly to meet the customer needs. * Willing to work out of hours and weekends to support emergency issue resolution as and when required. * Ability and willingness to work at site up to 40% of the time whenever required. * Ability to work autonomously and take lead in development of solutions in high pressure situations with tight deadlines. * Maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all times * To know and implement the quality policy of MHPS-EU. * Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures at all times. * Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of third parties. Person Specification: * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a preference for experience in Steam Turbine design, operation, repair, service, or installation and commissioning * Experience in developing and writing specifications and proposals. * Effective customer service skills and strong organisational skills. * Strong analytical and problem solving ability and adept at commu
