Job Summary Century Link, a leading name within the Telecommunication & Fibre-optic Communication sector is currently recruiting a SQL developer to be based at either our Basingstoke office or Poznan office in Poland. Working as a member of our EMEA IT Development team, the SQL developer will be responsible for data acquisitions, database design, performance tuning and implementation of data solutions to support the EMEA business strategies. You will have a high eye for detail, quality and reliability to maximise the continuing development of the department's most critical and complex data systems. A demonstratable methodical way of thinking is a must. Job Description Key Tasks + Utilising SQL server to participate in the development and maintenance of data centric solutions in response to varied business problems. + Fast Agile development of tactical and strategic business tools (Tests, Continuous delivery, deployment). + Supporting, developing and maintaining existing databases and solutions. + Increasing performance of existing solutions + Building tools to reduce repetitive processes carried out in the business. + Development of business facing reports and solutions + Be able to manage development lifecycle autonomously. + Occasional mentoring of junior team members. + Remains current, by acquiring & enhancing technology expertise with evolving systems programming, analysis, and database technologies. Skills Required Skills + Knowledge of Stored Procedures, CTE's, Temporary Tables and Table variables + Ability to move data between servers (Sql server and Oracle) + Advanced T-SQL skills + Database design skills, with a solid awareness of performance and scalability concerns + Database performance tuning + Database administration + Analytical, problem-solving skills and an eye for detail + Good knowledge of the software development lifecycle + Understand & interpret business users requirements and assessment of LOE (Level of Effort) + Capable of managing own workload, while providing regular feedback to management, lead analyst and stakeholders, as required Education Bachelors or Equivalent Alternate Location: PL-Poznan-Poznan; UK-Basingstoke-Redwood Requisition #: 222511 The above job definition information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
