Job Description
Post: SPECIALTY grade doctor, Older People Services Base: royal alexandra HOSPITAL We are delighted to advertise this exciting opportunity to join the Older People and Stroke team at the RAH. You will work with Consultants and Junior Doctor Colleagues to provide a comprehensive Older Peoples Service. This post will have a specific role in the redevelopment of both the older people outpatients and the assessment and rehabilitation services. Pre Covid - 19 the Day hospital provided a 5 day service. The development of community work and the introduction of rapid access clinic slots had provided options as an alternative to hospital admission, with a comprehensive geriatric assessment, led by a Consultant Geriatrician. Post Covid - 19 there is an opportunity to develop this service further, taking into account the changes made to the existing service in response to the Covid -19 pandemic. This includes virtual consultations and the development of rehabilitation and assessment clinics. We would be looking for the successful candidate taking this post to work closely with the Consultants and wider multi professional team, providing support to develop the unit and maintain the standard of care. There is flexibility to accommodate the interests of applicants with opportunities for development. A higher qualification such as MRCP would be desirable but is not essential.
