Job Description As a Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for providing support within the machining workshop to fulfil business requirements, as well as operating machining equipment in a safe manner, in accordance with instruction and manufacturers guidance. Key Accountabilities: Maintain a clean workspace, free of hazards Maintain traceability throughout the machining process Ensure that the quality output is commensurate with the requirements of the business, with particular reference to accredited tests under our ISO 17025 approval Maintain organised and auditable systems of work to ensure compliance with UKAS 17025 accreditation. Rudimentary appreciation and understanding of laboratory techniques and equipment to assure minimum quality and health and safety requirements are achieved. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need to be able to organise and prioritise workload, adopt a flexible approach to work and react effectively to a rapidly changing environment and focus when performing repetitive work. The following attributes would be desirable, but not essential; Understanding of metallurgy / machining of different metals CAD/CAM programming Use of various machining equipment (lathes, band saw, grinders etc) Knowledge of international standards applying to metals testing Working within a material testing facility Use of multiple precision machining solutions in a production setting Experience working within an engineering environment Additional Information As a Workshop Engineer, you'll receive a salary of between 18,000 to 22,000 per annum depending on experience, plus you'll benefit from a, retail discount scheme, a contributory pension scheme and life cover.
