Software Engineer

Software Engineer Knutsford We have a brand new opportunity available for a Software Engineer to join our Private Cloud and Middleware function based in Radbroke Hall, Knutsford. As a key member of this dedicated functionl, you will be part of a team of engineers with accountability / responsibility for the engineering (strategy, architecture, design, build, documentation and testing) of the software components that integrate our private cloud. You will work closely with your colleagues in the private cloud and middleware teams to bring their products to life as part of a modern developer focused experience. We are not trying to build a public cloud on premise. We are looking to bring our existing private cloud to the next level of maturity. A software driven private cloud with the security and scale required at a transatlantic bank, which is efficient to run, a delight to use, and helps our colleagues modernise their applications, development practises, and transform over time to a cloud ready architecture. What will you be doing? Be a key member within the engineering team The technical implementation and delivery of features for our internal customers Responsible for the configuration, development and testing of system components, supporting scripts and tools as required. Self-service features such as APIs, CMDB and management portal integration Contributing towards product strategy and vision Collecting analysing and responding to user feedback Demonstrating new ideas and features to stakeholders Creating timelines and roadmaps for developing the product Inspiring and enthusing colleagues and users of the product What we're looking for: Proven track record of delivering automation solutions and Infrastructure as Code Experience working with IaaS and/or PaaS products, including some experience of either virtualisation, containerisation, orchestration of compute/network/storage, and/or configuration management tool such as ansible/chef Postgraduate qualification or equivalent industry experience SQLServer Database experience would be beneficial Skills that will help you in the role: Bachelor's degree (BSc) or equivalent industry experience. Experience working within an agile team Private/public cloud experience is beneficial Where will you be working?
