Apply now Title: Assistant Chef - Part Time Location: Bideford, South West, GB, EX39 3FP Department: Care (Catering and Hospitality Staff) Operation: Sanctuary Retirement Living Requisition Number: 76642 Assistant Chef - Part Time Moreton Court, Bideford 9.24 per hour (rising to 9.53 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance) 28 hours per week We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Assistant Chef to assist with meal preparation. Set in the picturesque town of Bideford, Moreton Court provides apartments and communal facilities for over 55s. You will have an active input on nutritious and healthy menu choices, whilst ensuring the dietary requirements of our residents are met. Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, open manner are essential for success in this role. Read more about Moreton Court here The role of Assistant Chef will include: * Providing support to the Chef Manager, you will assist with the planning and creation of nutritionally balanced meals for our residents * Promoting and monitoring food hygiene and safety standards * Carrying out risk assessments and cleaning the kitchen to a high standard * Assisting with the supervision and development of staff Skills and experiences: * Previous experience of working in a catering environment is essential * Level 2 Diploma in Catering and Hospitality or knowledge at an equivalent level * Qualified in 706 City and Guilds, or willing to work towards * A valid and Basic Food Hygiene Certificate * Proven knowledge of health and safety procedures * Friendly and approachable attitude with the ability to interact with our residents, visitors and colleagues Why work for Sanctuary Retirement Living?
