Overview

Job Description

Do you have an interest in psychology or building a career in the field of autism? Could you support children with learning disabilities to live a life that makes sense to them? Then our role as a Support Worker at our children's home on the edge of Leighton Buzzard may be just the right fit for you. We love what we do and are recognised for our passion and dedication. Come and join us as a Support Worker and you'll soon see why... Outline You will support the children in the morning to get them ready for school, and then again in the evening and at night once school has finished for the day, helping with their daily lives and making sure they are able to participate fully in community activities and hobbies; interests that we hope you will share and nurture. These young people have complex needs and may show challenging behaviour. Our specialist teams and Registered Manager will support you to learn ways of helping them to manage this behaviour. You will also need to provide assistance with personal care. About you Of course we welcome you if you've been a care worker or healthcare assistant, but you don't need experience, just the right attitude and personal qualities. We offer extensive training and a great induction. We'll support you to gain your Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (free of charge), alongside other specialist training all provided by MacIntyre's accredited training team. You'll be someone with initiative and warmth, able to thrive in a constantly changing environment, confident yet knowing when to ask for advice, and able to work as part of a close-knit team. If this sounds like you, and you're willing to learn, you probably have exactly the qualities our children and young people need. We can teach you the rest. It would be great if you have a manual licence, to drive service vehicles, but this isn't essential. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours a week) and you will work shifts including early and late (evenings), weekends, and bank holidays. Pay and Rewards MacIntyre provides a full induction and ongoing training, including the opportunity to gain nationally accredited vocational qualifications.
