The two houses that make up Clementi Court are home to eight adults with profound, multiple disabilities and is filled with lots of fun and laughter. About the role Support workers help individuals with all aspects of their daily routines such as personal care, eating and drinking, administering medication and household management. The people we support love to engage in activities and events. This is when individuals get the chance to follow their dreams and aspirations and do things they would not be able to do were it not for the dedication of their support staff. Examples include; going bowling, cinema trips, days out at the zoo, spa days and shopping trips. But it doesn't stop there! We go to a hydrotherapy pool on a weekly basis where the people we support can relax and stretch in the pool and enjoy the sensory lighting system. Due to our individuals' complex support needs, you will get the opportunity to work alongside different healthcare professionals, including speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, GPs, neurologists, behavioural specialists, psychologists, advocacy teams, specialist nurses and many more. We provide 24/7 support to people, so this role would suit you if you like the idea of working shifts (typically hours for this position will range from 07.00am to 10.00pm on a rota basis, this which involves working morning, evenings and alternate weekends). You may also get the opportunity to accompany the people we support on holidays. We do require staff to undertake sleep in duties as needed, which could be 1 or 2 nights per month. This is to be available if the waking night person requires assistance. About you You don't need experience of support work or any special qualifications for this job - you'll get plenty of training along the way. It's great if you already have experience of learning disabilities and supporting people with complex needs, but this is by no means essential. What matters most is your positive attitude to life and your desire to support people to live theirs with as much independence, choice, dignity and control as possible.
