Job Description
Software Engineer - Solutions Engineering SOFTWARE ENGINEER At Kobalt London, we're looking for a Software Engineer to join our Solutions Engineering team. In this role, you will support and develop new features for our production applications. Solutions Engineering is a business- and customer-facing department, owning and supporting our production applications. As well as reacting to business needs and solving operational and service problems, we develop new features for these applications. Over time, we intend the department to develop integrations for external customers as well. As an engineer at Kobalt you'll be involved in the whole development life cycle starting with planning sessions with the product team, writing clean, scalable and fully tested code. Our new developers are always mentored by an existing and more experienced member of the team and have access to an extensive range of learning materials ranging from a free Udemy account to access to a library of online e-books and audiobooks. WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO US * Exceptional engineering skills preferably within a Java environment * Experience working with cloud based technologies, preferably AWS services * Good knowledge of databases and SQL queries, preferably Oracle (PL/SQL) * Good understanding of data structures and algorithms and preferably microservices * Experience working on large and complex applications with high business and customer impact * Experience with operational and support work is desirable, but not essential * Experience of transferring knowledge and mentoring graduates and more junior team members * Experience working in an Agile environment WHY CHOOSE US?
