Due to continued growth and expansion at SPXFLOW, we are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Hydraulic Engineering Lead to join our team in Glasgow, UK. Reporting into the Head of Engineering, you will plan, direct and coordinate the day to day activities on Hydraulic Engineering matters within the aligned site Engineering Department in support of product development, product design, order execution, manufacture, build, test and site evaluations. Main duties and responsibilities: * Accountable for the Hydraulic function's performance, capabilities, responsibilities and outputs * Manage the hydraulic design process for new and existing products with due regard to setting and managing to appropriate stage gate review processes. * Work with Hydraulic subject matter experts to develop and embed Hydraulic Design Methodologies for classical design, scaling and CFD hydraulic design processes on both CTO and ETO products * Performs / directs personnel in generating design calculations, formal product specifications, definition of components and verification of same. * Work with Mechanical pump and package execution teams comprising multi-functional and multi-disciplined Engineers to ensure that all design objectives and outputs are satisfied. * Assessing, planning and delivering training needs to deepen and broaden the technical capability of the Hydraulic Engineering Team, mentoring and supporting Team members as required. * Contribute to continual improvement process. About You: * Minimum of 8 years hydraulic engineering experience of which 3 years should have been spent in a technical team leadership role * Experience in hydraulic design of pumps from first principles using a combination of classical design methods and more modern Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling techniques. * Extensive previous exposure to, and clear understanding of, the full engineering process from front end support, through design-make, build and test to product delivery. * Track record of successful engineering project management with knowledge of CAD systems, document control/management and project planning tools * Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferably in Mechanical / Fluid Machinery Engineering * Strong organizational and management skills About SPXFLOW Innovation.
