Job Description

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and is open to women only (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1). Zero Hours Contract x 2 Various locations / home based Shropshire Domestic Abuse Service (SDAS) provides accommodation and outreach support to families and individuals across the County of Shropshire. The role will involve providing support for adults and their children who are affected by domestic violence and abuse, who are over the age of 16. Due to the current pandemic we are looking for additional staff to assist, in the first instance, with delivery of Group work (virtually) and telephone support. Candidates should have previous experience of working in a front-line service with individuals in crisis situations and be able to demonstrate an understanding of domestic abuse issues across all communities. Candidates should also have excellent communication skills and must have their own vehicle due to the need to travel countywide. The ssuccessful applicant will be expected to work in a Refuge setting for initial training. This post will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and detailed references.
