An exciting opportunity has arisen to apply for a Band 7 Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist role in clinical haematology and renal medicine, 29 hours per week for 12 months to cover maternity leave. NUH is one of the few centres in the country that offers a dedicated and multiprofessional approach to rehabilitation of renal patients in the inpatient setting, constantly working to reduce the effects on deconditioning in this chronic patient group. We also offer a comprehensive approach to working with patients in the haematology speciality, offering support and rehabilitation to patients throughout their haemato-oncology journey, working closely with our other therapy and specialist nursing colleagues to deliver prehab guidance, inpatient rehabilitation and care, and post discharge rehabilitation for HCST patients. This post may appeal to someone who wishes to further develop and showcase their leadership and service improvement skills, as well as advance their clinical skills in these specialist areas. As physiotherapists we are key members of a multidisciplinary team geared to the rehabilitation of patients in the inpatient setting. The post holder will be based at Nottingham City Hospital, supporting staff to further develop skills and knowledge in clinical haematology and renal medicine, as well as working with the incumbent Band 7 Team Leader to support the running of a large medical specialities physiotherapy team. Liaison with the wider MDT will be essential to help further develop the roles of AHPs within this clinical setting as well as to benchmark and audit the service. The post holder will need to be enthusiastic and have experience in one or both areas of speciality. They will need to be keen to work with the wider team to develop the service as well as support the Team Leader to provide training and line manage other members of the physiotherapy team. Experience in respiratory physiotherapy is essential due to this post supporting the out of hours rota.
