Job Description

You will provide a high quality, safe and supportive environment in order to care for patients and their infants within the perinatal mental health service meeting the identified physical and psycho-social needs of the patient, infant and family, whilst ensuring the child's needs are paramount. Provision of care within the West of Scotland Mother and Baby Unit and the community psychiatric nursing service in conjunction with other agencies within, and external to the mental health services, providing, through assessment and implementation of clinical interventions, a comprehensive and individualized package of care for the patient and infant within the patient's family and community environment. As part of a multi-disciplinary team you will have responsibility in conjunction with Health Visitor contribute to the assessment of infant care and development needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, liaising with West of Scotland health and social care teams in both hospital and community settings, and local hospital teams, primary care teams and social care teams, ensuring the delivery of high quality care to infants and patients in the context of the mother's mental illness and her parenting responsibility . Aligned to the national practice model. It is essential that you are a Qualified Nursery Nurse - NNEB / HND or SVQ level III in childcare and that you are registered with Childcare and Education Board. You should have relevant experience since qualification. The shift pattern for this post is either 7.30am - 2.30pm, 1.30pm - 8.15pm or 9.00pm - 7.45am.
