An opportunity has arisen to join our team in Cranswick on a permanent full time basis. The successful candidate will work as a Seedline Supervisor and support and manage the day to day seed product line activities on site and support crop protection activities on and off site whilst ensuring health and safety, environment and QA standards are met in line with site specific plans and objectives. The successful individual will be responsible for the operation of 2 seed plants in a manner that meets the commercial requirements of the individual business unit whilst maximising efficiency and upholding quality, health, safety and environmental standards. Principal Accountabilities Site Maintenance and Operations * To assist the Site Management in the general running of the site. * Ensure general housekeeping and hygiene of the site is maintained * Ensure the buildings and plant are maintained to a high standard * Liaise with laboratory staff regarding specific seed analysis * Liaise with Grain Admin and lab regarding non conforming product control and release Health, Safety and Environment * Assist the Site management to comply with Health and Safety, Fire and Environmental legislation * Ensure compliance with the company Health, Safety and Environmental policies * Co-operate and engage in health, safety and environment training as required * To keep records as required by Health and Safety * Provide support to the site manager to run the site in a safe and efficient manner Product line responsibilities * Responsible for seed production to the required standards of quality and production. * Comply with company procedures and customer requirements regarding cleaning, chemical application and packaging in order to produce the desired levels of product quality and service. * Liaise with Seed Production Management regarding production planning and plant utilisation * To supervise the operation of either seed processing lines. * To liaise with the laboratory on testing of both as grown and treated seed. * Ensuring that only materials of the required specification are used in the production process. * Controlling non conforming seed products. * To ensure building and plant hygiene. * Keep records as required by Quality Assurance or any relevant government legislation * To comply with requirements of ESTA at all times Knowledge and skill requirements Essential * Full driving license * Able to cope under pressure and work towards deadlines * A flexible approach to working hours specifically in peak periods * Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally. * Ability to work co-operatively with others and independently at times without supervision Desirable * IT literate with experience of using Microsoft office * Seed Samplers licence * Crop inspectors' licence * PA1, PA11B NPTC * Counterbalance FLT licence Why work for Frontier?
