Guy's & St. Thomas' Hospital Haematology & Oncology Directorate Consultant in Haematology with interest in Myeloma and Haemato-oncology Full Time - 10 PA from 79,860 p.a. excl. LZ Permanent Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Consultant Haematologist with a special interest in Myeloma / Haemato-oncology. GSTFT is made up of two of London's best known teaching hospitals and employs over 13,650 staff and has over 2 million patient contacts a year. Our annual turnover is now 1.3 billion. It has a strong haematology service under the umbrella of being one of the largest health care providers in London. The roles of this post are: * a) to support the Plasma Cell Disorder / myeloma service * b) to support the Haemato-oncology inpatient service * c) to support the 2WW / Cancer pathway service * d) to support the Haematology Diagnostic service We are seeking a dynamic individual committed to excellence in service delivery to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a first class team in an active and progressive central London teaching hospital environment. You must be fully registered with the GMC and hold Licence to Practise and be on the Specialist Register, or within six months of attaining your CCT or equivalent at interview stage. The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable adults and/or children (0-18 years) and therefore this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Criminal Records Bureau to check for any previous criminal convictions. You may be required to work a shift pattern designed to provide cover for 24 hours a day or extended working day over a seven day week. Your hours of work will be as detailed in your job plan and may be varied from time to time in accordance with the Consultant Contract Terms and Conditions. This includes asking certain groups of staff to work more flexibly so that we can offer services to patients in the evenings and at weekends. We regard this flexibility as essential if we are to continue to provide first class patient care in the future. As a result, any offer of employment to a consultant post will be subject to you agreeing to work a new more flexible pattern of working in the future if required and in accordance with the provisions of the new Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust consultant contract.
