The Project Manager's role is to manage a portfolio of projects, covering New Product Introduction, product cost reduction and manufacturing and supply chain optimization, reporting to the Microwave Systems (MWS) Program Manager. The role will involve interacting with various CommScope functions (Design Engineering, Quality, Procurement etc), manufacturing facilities, suppliers and customers to ensure that projects are delivered to plan and within budget. The person must be able to provide project management of multiple projects from initial business case through to final product delivery and readiness for volume manufacture. Duties & Responsibilities: * Creating and maintaining project plans for multiple projects, following the CommScope Product Development Process (PDP). * Ensuring that the project deliverables are achieved on time, on budget, and to the required quality. * Track project Metrics including timeline, resource and budget. * Manage the overall progress and initiate corrective actions when required. * Report progress and timeline completions to CommScope management and required teams. * Communicate and escalate project delivery issues to CommScope internal teams. * Resolve conflicting priorities and tasks when required. * Manage risks to the project's successful outcome, including the development of contingency plans where appropriate. * Effectively manage the project resources including manpower, materials and equipment. * Addressing any contract or business issues, and resolving conflicting priorities and tasks as they arise * Coordinating all relevant functions across the business to ensure NPI projects are delivered to plan * Support project FMEA activity, identification and mitigation of risks. * Proactive in seeking cost/efficiency improvements and encouraging a climate of innovation * Identify key challenges and implement timely action to achieve the desired output * Deputise for the Program Manager as and when required Qualifications & Experience: * Minimum 5 years work experience in an engineering project management role, plus a business degree in a relevant field * Working knowledge of MS Project or similar project scheduling tool. * Project Management Institution membership (eg APM, PMI) and qualifications eg APMP, Prince 2 or equivalent * SAP ERP system knowledge is desirable * * Must have experience and knowledge of project management, process and product start-up and implementation * Knowledge of ISO9000/TL9000 Quality Systems with implementation or other applicable professional experience * * Working knowledge of basic and advanced Quality tools such as; TQM, Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis, Poke Yoke, Kaizen Lean Manufacturing etc * * Experience with developing/documenting procedures. Use of PM/Quality/Process Engineering methods * Strong verbal and written communication skills to present material related information * Effective communication, persuasion and influencing skills at all levels * Strong decision-making and interpersonal skills * Ability to articulate (verbally & in writing), defend and negotiate project delivery expectations with internal and external customers at all levels of management. * Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel & PowerPoint * Cultural sensitivity to manage relationships with people across cultures * Leadership capabilities to deliver results and to build cross-cultural teams * Some travel will be required in this position * Fluent English, written and oral It is the policy of CommScope to provide Equal Employment Opportunities to all individuals based on merit, qualifications and abilities.
