Celgene, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bristol-Myers Squibb is looking for an Outcomes Research Scientistto join the UK Medical team. The Haematology Outcomes Research Scientist is responsible for leading and coordinating all UK & Ireland non-registrational observational data generation activities in their allocated therapy area(s) and leverage the UK real world data environment to drive wider business value. **Key Responsibilities** + Provides real-world research (RWR) inputs into local Brand plans, in collaboration with local HEOR, Medical and Market Access teams. + Understand the knowledge gaps and needs requiring RWR, as identified by the brand teams; + Propose executable RWR projects to address these needs. + Manages the technical aspects of non-interventional research (NIR) projects, in collaboration with Medical, HEOR colleagues and the CORDS team: + Develop study options to respond to Brand needs and prepare NIR study concept sheets with budget estimates; + Support or lead preparation of study protocols, CRFs, and statistical analysis plans; + Interpret study results and support messaging. + Provides education, training and support to local Medical and HEOR teams in methods and processes for developing and executing local NIR projects. + Supports scientific communications arising from local RWR projects and in collaboration with ensures full compliance with external Clinical Trials Transparency requirements + Ensures the smooth implementation of NIR projects and studies: + Support Study Directors and CSR&O in managing vendors for outsourced projects + Execute analyses of licensed BMS RWR datasets e.g. CPRD/HES + Collaborate with Regional Clinical Operations for projects run by our internal R&D organization + Collaborate with CSR&O and study teams for the tracking and follow-up of European NIR projects. + Contributes to the RWR network with members from all EMAC and European countries and ensures close collaboration with above-country functions (e.g. CORDS) involved in RWD generation. + Identifies key trends in local UK & Ireland data sources and new methodologies (including Big Data). Drives innovative RWR opportunities based on insights gained. + Establishes strong partnerships with key academic and industry groups involved in exploiting the UK RWD environment. **Qualifications required** + Masters in Epidemiology or Statistics or higher + Prior experience in academia or payer environments as well as experience in the pharmaceutical sector (industry, CRO, etc.) + Experience with large electronic medical or administrative datasets + Experience in coding common statistical analysis languages + Experience with vendor management and NIR study implementation **Knowledge Desired** + Understanding of the evolving UK data landscape + Understanding of NIR research including study designs, data sources, methodological limitations, and statistical methods + Flexibility to work across therapeutic areas with different strategic priorities and data needs + Ability to function effectively in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment, within a complex matrix + Strong communication skills, with capacity to communicate complex issues to different audiences Bristol-Myers Squibb recognizes the importance of balance and flexibility in our work environment.
