Job Title: Inclusion Producer School / Directorate: Cardiff School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies Advert: Please note that this job is open to current Cardiff University staff only Inclusion Producer Cardiff has been recognised as one of nine creative clusters in the UK and this multi-million pound investment will place innovation at the core of media production in the capital. This is a golden moment for the screen sector in South Wales and Clwstwr, a research and development project, will grow the current position of strength into one of leadership. Cardiff University, University of South Wales and Cardiff Metropolitan University are working in partnership with the screen industry to research and develop new products, services and experiences, leading to economic growth and job creation. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Inclusion Producer to help us to understand the diversity of the current news and screen sector in Wales and to work with the team to build an inclusive R&D community. Through this work, we will create visibility of the sector's strengths and work to overcome its challenges. We are seeking a new team member to help us to build a sustainable and diverse ecosystem that embraces under-represented voices to enable us to explore new ways of telling stories within the screen and news sector. The Inclusion Producer is a key role to lead and develop the equality, diversity and inclusion (ED&I) strategy, action plan and delivery plan for Clwstwr. The successful applicant will employ a 360 degree approach, working with the wider Clwstwr team, our partners, expertise across academia and industry, strategic bodies and our funded projects to ensure our partnerships, processes and structures are as inclusive as possible. This is a golden moment for the screen and news sector in South Wales and Clwstwr is working to help grow our current position of strength into one of leadership. This role will ensure our future screen and news sector is inclusive and representative of our community and that we continue to look at the world with fresh eyes and find new ways of doing things. This post is full time (35 hours per week) and fixed term until 17 December 2021. Post Reference Number: 9898BR Job Description: 1. Lead on building an understanding of the screen and News sector's strengths and challenges around inclusion. This will include working with partners to map the diversity of the current News and Screen sector, identify the opportunities available to grow that diversity, and recognize and address barriers to undertaking research and development (R&D). 2. Change perception by raising awareness around the benefit of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion processes in the R&D environment for screen and news. Creating visibility of this work will include profiling successful and commercial examples of innovation for and by people from diverse backgrounds. 3. Develop and lead on awareness raising events, training and other relevant activity throughout the year. 4. Lead on the creation of a diverse R&D community within the Clwstwr region. This will include helping to diversify our processes, team, partners, cohort, projects and user test subjects where possible. 5.
