Job Description
Amazon has an immediate opening for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to support our European Data Center infrastructure growth initiatives. Based in our Dublin offices, the TPM will lead cross functional teams to drive the implementation and deployment of data center expansion projects to meet the demands of our rapidly growing business. An ideal candidate will possess 3 - 5 years of experience in technical program management, plus experience managing complex and large-scale infrastructure projects including data center build outs / fit outs. A Bachelor's degree is required as is a demonstrated ability to lead engineers and subject matter experts in a technical environment. A talent for successfully delivering aggressive programs while effectively managing large capital budgets is essential. A successful candidate will be an exceptionally strong communicator both written and verbally, and will lead multi-discipline, highly technical project teams. You will be familiar with one or more AWS products, have experience of working in a complex engineering environment and will have worked as a technical project manager on increasingly complex projects. Your experience includes data center technologies like HVAC, power systems, cable plant, server, or networking. You will work comfortably with teams and peers from Real Estate, Design Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Procurement and Operations to name but a few. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial and very busy environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role. You will clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote teams. 15% Travel is envisaged within EMEA per month with International travel also.
