Job Description
Front End Developer Our main focus is on delivering interactive promotions, engaging mini-games, responsive landing pages and micro-sites; working closely with stakeholders and designers we build the best experiences for our customers and are always looking to push things forward. Being the development part of the marketing department means we have a lot of control about how we build things, allowing us to use the right technology for each project and often giving us the opportunity to drive things as we see fit. We are looking for an experienced JavaScript developer who is well versed in the language and has experience with React. You'll be the kind of person who likes to get stuck in and solve problems; the kind of developer who isn't afraid to ask 'why?' before 'how?'. You should have a pro-active attitude towards learning and be keen to understand the wider department area and also other parts of the business. Your key skills * Good experience of creating web sites with hand-coded HTML5, JavaScript and CSS3 following latest trends, standards and design patterns. * Experience producing cross-browser compatible CSS code, compiled from SASS or LESS source. * An excellent and strong understanding of writing complex JavaScript applications with modern architectural design patterns. * Understand the principles of scalable and maintainable code. * Using GIT or other version control system for development. * Experience with optimising JavaScript applications for performance. * The ability to work to in-house standards, guidelines and processes. It would also be nice if you had; * A senior mindset, opinions on how things should be done and a desire to be a leader by example inside the team. * Examples where you have improved your or your team's day-to-day development life. * Experience building things with React and maybe Redux or Flux. * Experience with TDD/BDD. * A passion for automation (from automating the day-to-day, to CI, CD, testing, and beyond). * The ability to coach and mentor others. * Architectural design. * Excellent core design knowledge, graphic layout and typography skills.
