Job Description

We are looking for a motivated enthusiastic individual to work in our Aseptic unit for 22.5 hours week , joining our friendly, dedicated workforce in the Pharmacy Department. In conjunction with our other team members, you will ensure that the aseptic service is provided to Chemotherapy patients across the Trust to a high standard. This will include processing cytotoxic and trial worksheets, undertaking the compounding of aseptically prepared products, supervision and training of Pharmacy Assistants and Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians. Other duties included documentation and in-process control checks for which you will need to be willing to complete the pre and in process checking accreditation. You will also undertake weekend and late night dispensing activities within our modern automated, dispensary area. In this role you will be responsible for providing an accurate and efficient service in the dispensary and on wards including supporting the dispensing of inpatient medication, outpatient prescriptions and TTO's. It is essential that you have a BTEC National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Science and the NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Standards or equivalent qualification. You will also be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council. This post is a cross site position and will initially be at Worthing but the successful candidate will be expected to work at St Richards, Chichester once the unit is fully open.
