Over the coming years the Procurement service will play a key role in enabling the delivery of the Council's ambitious budget and capital expenditure plans and as such is expanding significantly. The Councils Procurement Service has several exciting opportunities within the categories of ICT/Business, Public Health/Children's/Adults and Construction/Economic Growth and Regeneration/Transport for experienced procurement professionals with MCIPS who want to further their careers in the Public Sector. As a Procurement Category Manager you will be responsible for leading the procurement activity within one of the three Council priority areas: Successful Business, Successful People, and Successful Places. The successful candidates will be expected to use their professional expertise to provide a frictionless procurement service to internal service users which delivers incremental value whilst at the same time mitigating compliance and commercial risks.
