Medical Audio Typist

Job Description

You will be required to work collaboratively in a safe, caring and respectful way. You will provide a comprehensive and confidential medical audio typing service to the medical staff attached to the North Ayrshire Adult Community Mental Health Team. You will be educated to 'O' Grade / Standard Grade Credit or National 5 level in English and Maths and possess an SVQ Level III in Business Administration/IT or equivalent qualification. You will have advanced typing skills, proven audio typing experience and a sound knowledge of medical terminology. You will have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages and also possess a European Computer Diving Licence (ECDL) qualification or recognised IT qualification. Previous experience of working in an NHS environment with an understanding / experience of NHS networks is advantageous. You will also have excellent communication skills " written and verbal, interpersonal skills and have the ability to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team. You will have the ability to work unsupervised whilst using your own initiative, be able to work to challenging timescales by organising and prioritising you workload and have the flexibility to adapt to change and last minute demands. A car owner / driver is desirable as you may be required to travel across various sites / bases within Ayrshire & Arran.
