Job Description

We require a committed Security Officer to join our team at University Hospital Birmingham. Security staff provide a vital role in ensuring that hospitals are welcoming and accessible but also safe environments for patients, visitors and staff. To provide a security visual deterrent, patrolling internal/external with a rapid response service to emergency, urgent and routine classifications. Main Responsibilities/Duties Include: Responsible to the Security Duty Manager & Security Manager. Adherence to all Service Level Agreements as introduced by the business. This involves responding to incidents in set SLA time periods in a fast paced physically demanding position. Carry out necessary security tasks, both planned and reactive and any other sites assigned by the Security Duty Manager. Ensure that all procedural security requirements are met, if not exceeded, regarding the client's assets and occupants on site. Ensuring that H&S and Fire demands are observed and complied with at all times. Ensuring that all security procedures are adhered to by all persons using the premises. To maintain a high profile presence of the function at all times with regard to the client, visitors and contractors. To present himself/herself in all circumstances as a confident, reliable, trustworthy and highly professional member of ENGIE function. To produce regular update reports to the Security Duty Manager on the function and related issues. To undertake any other reasonable duties or requests as required, as detailed by the Security Manager or other ENGIE Manager(s) To work from a rolling 3 month rota with varying shifts, supporting the business operational needs as defined by the Security manager/ Security administrator. Working hours will not exceed 48 hours per week or 182 hours per calendar month. An SSO will be required to complete 16 x 12 hours shifts per calendar month working both days and nights 0700hrs - 1900hrs & 1900hrs - 0700hrs. Dedicated to patrolling high risk areas pertaining to fire hazard(s), detecting reporting and escalating such events via the Security Duty Manager and Security Control Room To be trained in using emergency firefighting equipment. To be physically fit. Required Qualifications, Skills or Experience : Front line SIA Guarding License & preferably with a front line SIA CCTV License Evidence of at least 12 months Security Guarding experience Customer Service Focused Respectful, conscientious, flexible, confident, mature nature, articulate. Awareness and sensitive to specific needs regarding a healthcare environment Must pass DBS at enhanced level As part of our employment vetting you must be able to provide a 5 years verifiable employment history or school history (in accordance with BS7858).
